I prefer the post-facelift on all e38s except for silver ones. Maybe it is because I owned a silver 98 e38 for 8 years. Though if it is pre-facelift it has to have amber corners, I think pre-facelift clear corners look really really really cheap.

Hi all, Maybe many of you have't yet had the pleasure (!) of owning two X3's already - one before the facelift, and one after. I have, and only because my new 2006 model year got stolen towards the end of last year, and now I have a new one, courtesy of insurace. As Bluegnomes says, late pre facelift a good option. The very early 212s has a 5 speed box in the 2.1 and a lower output/worse emissions in the 3l. Worth checking the numbers so you avoid. Late pre facelift, good history and toys sounds like best value. There are some quite harsh lines in the styling of the original car's nose which are covered up nicely with a darker shade of paint.
